ROGÉRIO CRUZ THEMUDO LESSA is the founding partner of Themudo Lessa Advogados. He focuses on M&A, joint ventures, foreign investments, corporate disputes and corporate advice to companies, family groups, investment funds and individuals.  

He devoted 41 years of his career to law firm Demarest, where he started as an intern in 1968, became a partner in 1975, and CEO between 2004 and 2009, when he left the firm while holding the position of chairman of the board of directors.
 

As head of Demarest’s corporate law practice for over 20 years, he led teams in several of the most significant transactions in Brazil. 
 

Graduated from Universidade de São Paulo (1969), he holds a master’s degree in comparative jurisprudence from New York University (1973) and worked as a foreign associate at Debevoise Plimpton, in New York (1974). 
 

Throughout the years, he has held a sit in boards of philanthropic organizations and professional class associations, including the board of CESA (Centro de Estudo das Sociedades de Advogados). 
 

He has also held positions in boards of directors, audit committees and executive boards of multinational and publicly traded companies.
 

He has attended several extension courses and international conferences and seminars as a debater and speaker, including IBA and Lex Mundi.
